Sealing and Conducting Solutions for Laboratory Automation and Analytical Equipment

This sequence demonstrates the performance of Bal Seal Engineering, Inc.'s sealing and connecting solutions in laboratory automation and analytical equipment. The first segment illustrates the use of Bal Seal® spring-energized PTFE and UHMWPE seals in a sample preparation unit head array. In the next segment, Bal Seals are shown in an ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography pump. The third and final segment shows Bal Seal's canted-coil springs transferring electrical current and providing grounding for the ionization process in a mass spectrometer instrument assembly. A Bal Seal separates the atmosphere from the mass spectrometer's vacuum chamber.
